EPICo² invests €10 million for expansion of GreenPulse solar projects
- 07-04-2025

EPICo² is investing in GreenPulse BV, a company specializing in the development of solar panel projects for industrial companies in Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France. EPICo²'s capital participation aims to support international expansion.
GreenPulse’s business model is focused on relieving its customers, mainly large industrial companies, of the burden of greening their energy consumption through the development, installation, financing, and operation of solar panel parks on their sites. The produced electricity is purchased by the site owner at a fixed price, providing both relief and long-term price certainty for the company. Given the PV obligation for large consumers imposed by the Flemish government, the need for such relief is significant. By engaging GreenPulse, large consumers can meet their obligations without losing focus on their core business.
Industrial Players
Manu Jans has over 15 years of experience in the energy sector and is committed to contributing to the greening of the energy landscape in Belgium and Europe. In recent years, he and his team have built a portfolio of more than 60 MW of solar panel projects in Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, and Portugal, with Spain and Belgium forming the largest share. GreenPulse now has a broad customer base of mainly large industrial players with multiple (international) locations: building materials manufacturer Etex, packaging materials manufacturer Amcor, pharmaceutical group Baxter, real estate group CBRE, sports retail chain Decathlon… EPICo²’s investment should enable the portfolio to be further expanded and support the (foreign) growth of the company. GreenPulse aims to build around 25 MW of new projects each year.
Sustainable Collaboration
EPICo and Manu Jans are no strangers to each other. The previous EPICo fund invested seven years ago in a 3 MW PV project by Jans on the buildings of TVH in Waregem. “By stepping into the capital of GreenPulse, we will now work together structurally to significantly expand the portfolio of solar panel parks in the coming years,” says Tom Mortier, who leads EPICo²’s energy transition team.
Manu Jans also has full confidence in a successful future for GreenPulse and the collaboration with EPICo²: “Our existing portfolio shows that my team can set up successful solar panel projects both in Belgium and abroad. Our customers are large companies with whom we have a good collaboration. EPICo²’s participation enables us to accelerate our growth and give the activities of a Flemish energy SME an even stronger international dimension.”
