The Aurora consortium, formed by financial investors Epicofund and Rebel and contractors groep Van Roey nv and Democo, today concluded 7 DBFM agreements with GO! Education of the Flemish Community for the construction of schools in Kasterlee, Duffel, Wijnegem (GO! & Gemeente Wijnegem), Leopoldsburg, Waregem, Kruibeke and Knesselare.

  • Investment of more than EUR 50m in direct construction cost
  • As much as 30,000 m² of new school buildings
  • 3,000 pupils who will enjoy new facilities

The principle of DBFM (design, build, finance, maintain) means that the design takes into account not only construction costs but also maintenance costs, which are already budgeted over the 30-year term of the financing.

  • Schools can fully focus on their pedagogical mission
  • Longer lifespan for buildings designed with maintenance in mind
  • Clear insight into costs and operations for the next 30 years
  • Investment without burdening the budget
